We offer scholarships to some of
the most destitute students in Kenya.
Our Scholarship Programme
Roughly half of our scholarship recipients are orphans who were abandoned by their extended families because they were too poor to provide for them. Others were born HIV-positive in the informal settlements of Nairobi and they have struggled with the stigma of the disease and the side-effects of antiretroviral medications throughout their young lives.
We cover all the expenses related to their education including school fees, uniforms, shoes, school meals, application costs and exam fees. Many of the tertiary students also receive a small stipend to help them with rent and living expenses.
"We cannot rescue them from their circumstances but we can support them through their struggle to become the best they can be."
— Scholarship Programme Director
Our scholarship staff work closely with the students to help them select appropriate schools and courses that will allow them to achieve their full potential. They assist with the application process and they follow the students’ progress throughout their course.
